Cosmetology Curriculum


Phase I Freshman

The first 200 hours of basic training is confined to theoretical and practical (mannequin) work. Student progress is recorded at all times in personal development, understanding the profession, bacteriology, sanitation and sterilization, people skills, shampooing, scalp treatments, hair cutting, perming, and hair design.

 

 

Phase II Intermediate

From 200 to 1,000 scheduled hours, students continue classes in skin care, manicuring, pedicuring, hair coloring, state laws. Students also work in the clinic of the school applying services to "models".

 

 

Phase III Senior

From 1,000 to 1,500 scheduled clock hours, students predominantly work in the clinic, complete practical and theory assignments and take mock state board exams. Upon completion of 1,500 hours, an affidavit is sent to the State Board of Cosmetology to enable the graduate to take the State Board examination. The exam consists of three parts ... practical exam, theoretical exam of 100 questions and an exam of State Laws and is held usually once a month by the Schroeder Measurement Technologies testing company.

 

 

 

 

Requirements For Completion

To complete our main course of Cosmetology, you must attend a minimum 1,500 hours which is extended over a period of not less than nine months, as required by the State of Maine.


Additionally you must pass all assigned courses with an average of 75%. Upon graduation, all students receive a diploma. Course prepares you for entry in the field of Cosmetology: Hairstylist, Colorist, Manicurist, Pedicurist, Skin Care.
