Hate Based Behavior
Spa Tech Institute has a zero tolerance for any form of hate crimes or bigotry.
Any acts of hate related behavior will be grounds for immediate termination.
Hate related behavior includes the following:
- Antagonizing or derogatory remarks based on race, color, physical features, religion, sexual identity, or nationality.
- Abusive remarks based on race, color, physical features, religion, sexual identity, or nationality.
- Threatening physical actions based on race, color, physical features, religion, sexual identity, or nationality.
- Physical abuse based on race, color, physical features, religion, sexual identity, or nationality.
Explanation
To be successful in the personal service field you MUST have a positive and generous attitude towards your fellow human beings. Unfortunately, there is a built in response based on millennia of evolution that predisposes us to react to the 1% that is different instead of the 99% that we share in common.
Since our mission is to make you successful, it is our responsibility to ensure that you conduct yourself in a mature, open and courteous way with everyone associated with the school. It is through learning to see the highest in each other and celebrating diversity that we will all be successful together.
Therefore, to ensure a safe learning environment that is conducive to growth and positive development, the school does not allow any hate based behavior. This includes xenophobic, homophobic, religious phobic or any other behavior that is negatively reactive to alternative life-styles, body types, beliefs or other differences.
These behaviors will sabotage your life and career. It will also impact the learning environment. For this reason any kind of hate based behavior may result in immediate termination.
This is a very important policy implemented for your protection as well as to increase your chances of professional success.
