Graduate Spotlight November 2018 Molly Merrifield

Molly came to Spa Tech Institute after graduating from Gorham High School in 2016 and considers herself a non-traditional student who has always had to work extra hard to achieve her educational goals. Molly had a lot of family support at home but did experience some outside skepticism about her pursuing a career in the beauty industry since she has solid “farm girl roots” and grew up working on her family farm.
While searching for the right school to attend after High School, Molly chose Spa Tech Institute because she believed that the Pivot Point curriculum and the Spa Tech Institute Educational team and staff would help accommodate her needs and wants and give her a greater chance of success. When asked what she enjoyed the most about her experience at Spa Tech Institute, Molly said that she really enjoyed her Cosmetology Educators and the fact that they took the time to get to know her and were always available for extra help. Her advice to prospective and new students would be to give 100%, you get out of your education what you put into it and the effort is truly worth it. Molly most enjoys the opportunity to really make her clients feel good but loves all aspects of being a Cosmetologist.
Molly’s entrepreneurial skills inspired her to booth rent and she is currently self-employed at Gorham Hair & Co. on 13 New Portland Rd. in Gorham, ME and welcomes new clients! You can reach her at (207) 839-7011.
