Health and Hygiene
Albert Quintero • May 14, 2019
Health and Hygiene are important issues for service and personal care professionals. It applies to both your own health and hygiene as well as that of your clients.
As a professional your personal health and hygiene are critical to your success. You are selling the intangible. This means that unlike selling a tangible product like a piece of jewelry or a car, the consumer has no way of seeing what you are selling directly. Therefore, they form their opinion of the quality of your work by their first impression of you.
This may be obvious to some people but it has not occurred to others. You only have one chance to make a good first impression. And most people will make up their mind about you within the first 10 seconds of meeting you. Therefore, as a professional in your community you will always to remember this fact every time you leave your house: You never know who you may run into who could become a future client.
If you are sick, disheveled or unclean, people will be put off. You rarely get a second chance to make up for the first impression.
This may seem unfair, shallow or even revolting, but it is reality. Every professional understands this and presents themselves accordingly. So to increase your professionalism and success, please follow the links for basic and important information on how to be and look your best.

The additional links on the left menu are advisories from the school nurse. Please review these periodically to make sure that you are up to date on all health and sanitation issues of the school and are in compliance with the school standards.
